In 2009 ParaCanoe events made their official World Championship debut in Dartmouth, NS. At the 2010 Worlds in Poznan, 63 athletes representing 31 federations from all 5 continents competed, and in late 2010 ParaCanoe won inclusion to the 2016 Paralympic Games scheduled for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Nelo Viper 55 K1 and Viper K2 meet the ICF specs for ParaCanoe events, and Nelo has recently introduced several modifications to these models to meet the needs of para athletes. For paddlers looking for added stability, the Viper 60 K1 can be outfitted with the same features.
Choice of Seat ...
Nelo now offers a seat with high back support (pictured above) in addition to their standard carbon designs ...
Sliding / Removable Platform ...
the seat platform slides back & forth on a 20" track to accommodate a wide range of length requirements. The platform can also be completely removed for athletes using custom designed seats ...
and Special Steering Features ...
with a simple twist of the wingnut located near the paddler, the rudder can be locked in place. And the length of the tiller bar can be easily adjusted to meet the individual needs of each paddler.
